Remember the unfortunate story of Lucy the sales girl that was killed in Abuja just a month after she got the job? The story making the rounds is that the Nigerian police is pleading with her family to settle the issue of her death out of court (a route the family is said to be considering seriously).
It has also been revealed that the police officers that killed her acted illegally when they came to enforce the order on demolition of illegal structures by officials of development control department.
The FCT Administration is said to have given the family N1.8m for funeral expenses while the FCT Police Command provided coffin, ambulance and what it called logistics support to the family.
It has been revealed that some member of her family want the Police to pay compensation but the police have not made any offer for now.
It is so unfortunate. Nigeria is really turning to a lawless society. *smh*
