John Dramani Mahama Is Ghana's New President
Ghana's former Vice President John Dramani Mahama has been declared winner of Ghana's presidential elections. John Dramani Mahama, 54 was vice president to the late John Attah Mills but later became president when his boss died suddenly in July.
A child from a privileged background, his father was a junior minister in the late Kwame Nkukrumah's cabinet . He is also a writer. He has penned a memoir “My First Coup d’Etat — And Other True Stories from the Lost Decades of Africa”.
He a is great fan of Fela's music. According to him Fela's music “gave us an outlet for our outrage and frustrations.He sang about what so many people felt but were not able to express for fear of the consequences.”
