Nigerian Business Woman Folorunsho Alakija is Richer than Oprah Winfrey, Making Her the Richest Black Woman in the WORLD!!

Folorunsho and her husband Modupe Alakija

According to respected financial publication Ventures Africa, Forbes current richest woman in Africa Folorunsho Alakija may be richer than American media mogul Oprah Winfrey, making her the richest black woman. The former (?) designer is said to own a Bombardier Global Express private jet 6000 reportedly worth $46 million.

According to an article on their site, Folorunsho
 is worth $6.44B (N1,013,012,000,000) .

Even if you slash her estimated earnings by half, bringing it down to $3.2 billion, she is still richer than the $2.7 billion Oprah Winfrey is worth according to Forbes Magazine’s last rankings.
Excerpts from the article.....
Folorunsho Alakija also has a real estate portfolio worth over $100 million. Earlier this year, Nigerian and British media announced that Alakija acquired a property at One Hyde Park for $102 million. See media coverage here and here
A source at Famfa Oil who asked for anonymity indeed confirmed that Mrs. Alakija actually acquired the property at One Hyde Park.
According to Fool.co.uk, OML 30 currently produces 35,000 barrels of oil per day.So, if

45 percent of a 35,000 bpd-producing oil bloc is $850 million, 100 percent of the same bloc = $1.88 billion i.e 100/45 x $850 million
If a 100 percent stake in a 35,000 bpd-producing oil bloc is $1.88 billion, by the same logic, a 100 percent stake in 200,000 bpd-producing oil bloc is worth $10.74 billion i.e 200,000 bpd/35,000 bpd X $1.88 billion
Folorunsho Alakija’s 60 percent stake in a $10.74 billion oil well is worth $6.44 billion.
Technically, her 60 percent stake in OML 127 is worth $6.44 billion.

The Forbes report calculated her earnings for last year alone, while Ventures calculated her total Networth....... so no report is actually wrong or right.

All I can say is wow!!
I love it when African women are running their own game and contributing to the African economy.

  3. Fraud! I don't know y Forbes is celebrating people dat ruined our country. How did this woman get the oil block? Did she buy it or it was a "Thank u package". This woman I can even manage, what d heck was TY Danjuma looking 4 on Forbes list? I'm beginning 2 loose respect for Forbes if they are going 2 start celebrating dictators and criminals.
