Jessica and Ashley Simpson’s parents have split up. The reason is the revelation that he is alleged gay. According to reports his wife Tina found out and decided to leave.

Tennis superstars Venus and Serena Williams are currently in Lagos. They arrived yesterday to support 'Breaking The Mould', a women’s empowerment programme by Octagon and Connect Marketing Services Ltd, while Amstel Malta is the official drink for their tour.

The sisters are scheduled to pitch their skills against one another in an exhibition match scheduled for the 2nd of November at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club; host a special tennis clinic for kids between the ages of 8 and 14; and appear at a glamorous gala night put together on their behalf at Federal Palace Hotel. 

The tennis stars also paid Governor Fashola of Lagos State a courtesy visit.

Bomb Blast Rocks Kaduna

A bomb explosion rocked Kaduna today. The bomb is said to have happened around 8.30 a.m today at St. Rita catholic Church.

Witnesses said a suicide bomber had rammed a car loaded with bomb into the church.

One witness confirmed three members of the church dead along with the suicide bomber. His shattered body was carried away in a pick up van.

Another witness explained that the suicide bomber , who parked his Honda CRV car outside the church premises waited until the Mass commenced and then at about 8.30am tried to force himself through the entrance gate but when he was refused entry by security men stationed at the gate, he forced himself through and the bomb in the car exploded .

“We saw the car parked outside the church, when we were going in for morning mass but we never suspected that the guy is a suicide bomber, it is unfortunate ”, he said.

Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State has acquired a brand new Bombardier Global 5000 (N565RS) for his exclusive use, SaharaReporters has learnt.

Mr. Amaechi’s lavish new “toy” comes at a time hundreds of thousands of residents in his state are displaced by the worst flooding crisis in the state’s history.

The newly purchased jet left Montreal-Trudeau Airport in Montreal, Quebec to Dakar Yoff International Airport. And then it was delivered to the state government on October 7th 2012.

Police Pleads With Family of Slain Sales Girl For Settlement

Remember the unfortunate story of Lucy  the sales girl that was killed in  Abuja just a month after she got the job? The story making the rounds is that the Nigerian police is pleading with her family to settle the issue of her death out of court (a route the family is said to be considering seriously).

 It has also been revealed that the police officers that killed her acted illegally  when they came to enforce the order on demolition of illegal structures by officials of development control department.

The FCT Administration is said to have given the family N1.8m for funeral expenses while the FCT Police  Command provided coffin, ambulance and what it called logistics support to the family.

It has been revealed that some member of her family want the Police to pay compensation but the police have not made any offer for now.
