Edo State Government Sets Up Task Force to Tackle Prostitution in the State

The governor has set up a task force to tackle the menace of human trafficking and prostitution in the State.
The force which will be headed by the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the state, Prof. Yinka Omoregbe will also work with the Nigerian Police, DSS and other security agencies.

He made it known at the 4th Edo Women’s Conference, themed ‘Modern day slavery: policies and programmes to combat/end trafficking in Edo state. 

The governor who revealed poverty, illiteracy, greed and the breakdown of the education system, especially the basic education system as part of the reason why human trafficking thrives in the State, also said the menace can be tackled with diplomacy, economic empowerment, education, job creation and skill acquisition.
